Alliance Française de Brunei Darussalam held a French Gourmet Cook-off at Onecity Shopping Centre on 21 March 2021, Sunday.

The live cooking competition saw eight teams made up of students from local culinary courses (Laksmana College of Business and Institute of of Brunei Technical Education) and home cook enthusiasts coming up with their own entrée and plat principal menu.

Present as the jury panel was His Excellency Christian Ramage, French Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam; Pierre Imhof, member of board of directors of Alliance Française de Brunei Darussalam; Vincent Bostyn, French pastry chef; and Muris, winner of Alliance Française previous baking competition and a cook enthusiast himself. 

Aauddi Zakhwan Yusuf and Dk Almas Sallamah binti Pg Hj Omar from Laksmana College bagged the prizes in two categories: best entrée; and best entrée and plat principal.


Meanwhile, Mikaaeilyiana binti Ariahim and Hj Mohd Fatin Faiz bin Muhammad Firdaus Iau from IBTE won the category of best plat principal.


The winning awards were presented by Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Haji Hazair bin Haji Abdullah, president of Alliance Française de Brunei Darussalam and H.E Christian Ramage.
