WHAT IS DELF/DALF?

DELF/DALF is an internationally recognised official diploma awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify your proficiency in French language.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DELF AND DALF?

DELF (Diploma of French-language studies) is for beginner and intermediate levels (from A1 to B2).

DALF (Advanced diploma in French language) is for advanced levels (C1 & C2).

WHAT DOES A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 OR C2 MEAN?

These are the six levels for grading an individual's language proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) a.k.a. the European standard. The aforementioned levels are as follow:

A1 : Breakthrough (Beginner)

A2 : Waystage (Elementary)

B1 : Threshold (Pre-Intermediate)

B2 : Vantage (Intermediate)

C1 : Advanced (Upper-Intermediate)

C2 : Mastery (Advanced)

WHAT IS THE EXAM STRUCTURE?

Each examination evaluates the four communication skills: reading (/25), listening (/25), writing (/25) and speaking (/25). You need 50/100 or above to pass. Any score below 5/25 is eliminatory.

The exam lasts from 1h20 (A1 level) to 2h30 (B2 level).

Do not hesitate to contact us to assess your level if you are unsure.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DELF PRIM, DELF JUNIOR AND DELF TOUT-PUBLIC ?
